DFCR High School Outreach Program
Welcome parents, students, and teachers to the DFCR's High School Outreach Program! The DFCR, while
specifically an organization of collegiate Republican clubs, understands Delaware's need for an active, committed
team of young Republicans that are in their high school years. Three of the five members of the board, including
myself, were presidents of our own schools' clubs. This is certainly a cause that is important to us all in a very
personal way. Being a member of the Teenage Republicans (as my school called it) was one of the most
rewarding things I did throughout my high school career. The DFCR believes that high school Republican clubs
are capable of performing the following tasks:

i.)
Spreading the conservative message. High school Republican clubs can create a more comforting
atmosphere for conservatives by facilitating higher political thought and more honest debate on campus.

ii.)
Winning elections!! High school aged Republicans make great campaigners. Local candidates can easily be
carried to victory by a determined and motivated group of young conservatives.

iii.)
Pushing its members to grow intellectually. Students will be challenged by joining in on debates,
listening to speakers, and reading books that they will not get to read anywhere else in school. Things like public
speaking skills and confidence often increase as well.

iv.)
Helping students make new friends. High School Republicans are generally very intelligent, capable
students that have a keen respect for America's traditional values. If attending a nearby university, students
often stay friends with the people they met in the High School Republicans.

v.)
Providing networking opportunities for its members. Students will be able to meet their local elected
officials and the Republican Party leadership quite often. Students will also develop relationships with others
from nearby high schools.

Being a High School Republican can be a very memorable experience. If you are a student that wishes to
register your school's club with the DFCR, or if you have thoughts of starting a Republican club on your campus,
please contact us at info@dfcr.org. We will begin right away to bring you the resources and the ideas that will
help your club succeed in spreading its message. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions.

Sincerely,
Brad Headley
