In 2022, Colorado enacted legislation requiring physicians to add dose, strain, use directions, and THC potency to their patient recommendations, along with their DEA number. As a result of this law, the number of prescribing physicians in Colorado fell by 25%+ in the past year. Legislation (SB 23-081) to reverse these requirements was pulled at last minute, likely due to pressure from well resourced anti-medical cannabis PACs. DFCR planned to provide the following testimony in support of this repeal. Hopefully next year we will have the opportunity to aid CO legislators in righting this bad policy.
